Persons numbers 4 and 5!

Person number 4 is Eric from Columbus Ohio. Welcome to the fold Eric!

Person number 5 is Dante from Ottawa, Ontario Canada. Since he lives in Canada I am letting Eric decide whether or not to mail the adapter to him, after all he is the one who has to pay for shipping and stuff.

In other news, the adapter is on its way to Khanh right now who I sometimes call person number 2. So yeah. That is the latest goings on with the project. Stay tuned for sports!

Frappr map time!

Well I tried making a Frappr map and posting it here but I have realized that Frappr sucks. If you know of a better map site thingy let me know.

I want to:

1. Add markers to the map to signify were the memory card adapter has been and where it is going.
2. I want to be the only one that can add markers to the map.

That is all. And Frappr can't do that for me apparently.

Our second and third participants have come forth!

Person number 2 is Khanh who resides in Oviedo, FL. I have asked Rashean to send the adapter to him as soon as he can.

Person number three is Taylor from Chattanooga, TN. I will send word to Khanh to ship the item to Taylor once he is ready.

The adaptor is in the mail!

The memory card adapter is in the mail and it is on the way to Rashean! Huzzah!

I sent the adaptor inside its box in a DVD case sized USPS padded envelope for only $1.35!
Apparently the fee might increase depending on how far you are gonna send it, but I don't think
it will be over $1.50 even if you have to send it to the opposite side of the country.

Hurray for the United States Postal Service!

I told the USPS employee who helped me about the project and he thought that it was a great idea and that I was a very creative and nice person for doing this. Ego +3!

The project has officially begun!

We have the first person who is ready to participate. Rashean who lives in Tyrone Pennsylvania is our first "brother in arms." Hurray for Rashean! Whenever the memory card adapter is going to a new location, the city and state will be listed in this blog.

So the memory card adapter's first stop is:

Tyrone, PA

If you want the adapter sent to you after Rashean just send your name and address to me at stevemcbarnes at hotmail dot com. Or if you want to you can leave the information in a comment to this post.

I am ready. Who wants my PS3 memory card adapter?

Well I got my 20GB PlayStation 3 hooked up last night. I transferred my PS2 and PSOne saves to it and I now am ready to send my memory card adapter to somebody who needs it! Post a comment with your name and address so that the memory card can be sent to you. If you don't want to give your real name that is fine, I just want a way to tell one person's comments from another's.

I have had some people say that they are not comfortable leaving their address in a comment in this blog so here is what I will do to alleviate your fears. Instead of leaving your address in a comment just email me your address and name at: stevemcbarnes at hotmail dot com. Then I will list your city and state in a comment here in the blog so people can see where the adapter has been.

The US needs only 1 PS3 memory card adapter project.

So I bought the PS3 memory card adapter even though I know that I am only going to use it once in my life. So I am proposing the following project.

After I am done I will send this memory card adapter to anyone who needs to use it, as long as they promise to send it to someone else who needs to use it. The only cost will be the cost to mail it to the next person who wants it.

Pros:
1. You can transfer your saves to your PS3 for around $2.00 (I will post the actual cost of shipping once I find it out) instead of $15.74.

2. Sony does not make tons of money by selling this one time use accessory to everyone who needs it.

3. You don't need to go anywhere to buy and/or return the accessory.

4. If this catches on and becomes and Internet phenomenon you can proudly say that you were apart of it and that you were there when it first began.

5. The US Postal Service will benefit from the money used to ship the memory card reader from place to place and from the money used to buy stamps. If you read the news you'll know that the USPS is not doing well right now.

6. The memory card reader is hard to find in some places in the US. If you join us, you won't have to go look for it.

Cons:
1. You will have to find an envelope so that you can mail the accessory to the next person.

2. You will have to pay for stamps.

3. You will have to wait for the memory card reader to get to you before you can transfer your saves.

Once this project gets rolling I will probably throw together one of those online maps that allow anyone to add locations to so we can all see just where the memory card adapter has been.
